Autumn Outgoing

Good Morning!

Autumn is my favourite season! So of course it calls for autumn mail. I found this cute little set at Yurindo by chance. I bought it a little while but have only just got around to using it. Now I wish I had bought two sets and used it sooner. So before winter is upon us I’m gonna get these out today (fingers crossed). I may make my own leaves if I find the time and manage to get my arse in gear to send them out fairly soon-ish. I wish I had more time for autumn mail but I’m gearing up for Christmas. I still have to get proper use out of my autumn stamps (these I will include in a new ‘Stationery Stash’ post).

For me autumn is an in between time there are still some warm day and not yet ridiculously cold. I love it for its beautiful colours, crisp air, conkers, leaf kicking, cocoa, chunky knits, chicken soup, contemplating Christmas and curling up indoors all cosy. It’s the calm before the crazy of Christmas and the review and the regrets of the year that is coming to an end. I miss autumn in England though, I will miss Bonfire night and the Diwali celebrations. Oh well Chirstmas at home will have to do, but for now lets enjoy the season!

‘Autumn wins you best by this its mute appeal to sympathy for its decay.’
-Robert Browning

‘Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty,
as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.'
-Lauren DeStefano, Wither

‘No spring nor summer's beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one Autumnal face....’
-John Donne, "Elegy IX: The Autumnal"

‘Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower’.
-Albert Camus

‘Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns’.
-George Eliot

Bird Mail

My last post was about my fabulous mail from Corey. I only took a few shots but this was my reply. Again I don't do posts on individual incoming or outgoing mostly due to lack of time and energy. But I'm happy with my effort and thought I would share.

The envelope I made from paper I bought from the National Art Centre Tokyo. I could spend forever in their gift shop. I love the print so much and it's a perfect match for Corey. The contents include birdy bits I have collected from all over. I'm glad I could manage to put together a bird theme. The paper is left over from some sheets I had in the UK.

 Front (I love the label)

Back, washi tape address label

Autumn Mail

I received this little mail surprise from Corey G. a fellow Instagrammer, who has a wonderful IG account and blog by the way. It was much appreciated and mail has been scarce so doubly so. I don't usually post about individual but had to do so for this. It's so simple and sweet you can see the amount of effort gone into it AND autumn is my favourite season.

Her other postal efforts are amazing and I feel fortunate to have received something from her. I had already had something I was working on for her, unfortunately it will not even compare to this.

Thanks Corey!

@rehanu Giveaway

So I recently reached 1000 followers on Instagram, which was a very big deal for me. I decided to do the usual giveaway. I decided against a 'kawaii give-away' despite being in Japan and having easy access to all things kawaii. Mainly because I hate kawaii (sorry kawaii fans) and also there are many kawaii giveaway on IG. So I opted for traditional Japanese stationery, which was more my taste and the kinda give away I would want to enter myself. My eventual winner was @mandyloudarling.

So here is what I included, I bought a few bits from Yohira a store I mentioned before and the washi paper and doll mobile is from 'Shatoh' the paper shop in Kamakura where I buy all my washi sheets. I went for a slightly autumnal theme and am I going to add a few other bits and pieces before I send them off.
Hand printed leaf card, washi paper sheets, paper geisha mobile, fumiko (envelope incense), blotting paper and paper face mask.
Total haul
writing paper from Yohira
 Paper doll mobile from Shatoh
 文香(ふみこう)Fumiko
 Hand printed card
Blotting paper and citrus face mask

Outgoing [August & September]

All my stationery hoarding has meant that I have been able to fill my envelope with a few extra goodies recently for my outgoing post. August and September outgoings were lovely, even if I do say so myself. Whether I'll have the time, money and inspiration to continue we shall see. But I'm proud of my efforts. This month I took on a few new pen pals. Hoping I can get mail out in a timely fashion.

Going to; England, America, Sweden, Finland, Spain, America,

Incoming [August & September]

The first of my letters from my new pens pals came thorough in August and September as well as letters from older pen pals. I loved the stationery and thought in all of them. They were lovely to come home to. I was also able to make some Gotochi swaps thanks to my colleagues going away for during the summer. I have added Chiba, Fukushima, Osaka and Shimane to my collection.
Post from; Australia, America, Singapore, India, America, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, England and America, Japan and Brazil
