Outgoing [July]

Lots of colour and love in this month's outgoing. Lots of new stationery supplies form recent adventures helps. As does the constant inspiration from Instagram of course. I'm on a roll too 3 pay it for forward letters went out too. I also managed to get some postcards this month too. I'm finally on top of outgoing but certainly do have a pile of post to replay as will be shown in my incoming mail.

Oh and I did a giveaway on instagram for reaching 300 followers. My package went out to the winner last week! Next month I hope to finish the last of my pay it forwards and get some family letter written.

Sippo Cafe

I first passed Sippo Cafe with Vivian when we met up in Tokyo. We actually passed it on our way to Yamada, I must admit that it caught Vivian's eye more than mine. But as we were pressed for time we just left it. This time around when out with Kat we had more time and better weather so we decide to take a look.

Front the outside Sippo Cafe just looks as if it just sells second hand furniture and home ware. Upon further inspection there is a cafe in the back with pretty wooden furniture and a lot of wall clocks. Looking thorough my photos I notice a menu stuck one of pieces of furniture outside! The front of the shop has a great mixture of the souvenirs and zakka gifts.

Despite having the usual mix of kokeshi, Mt. Fuji things, washing tapes, handkerchiefs, cups, postcards etc. it was cool to see other brands or things that you wouldn't see in Loft or Yruindo. They stocked many handmade products too and I think everything was made or produced in Japan. I really should take better note of new brands I see! Next time I will be more observation specially to make a price comparison.

Sippo is another great and find, if I hadn't indulged in both Sublo and Yamada that day I would've pick up much more. If I happen to be in Tokyo before my mum's birthday next month I may get her present there. I like the mix of pre-loved and typical souvenirs. I would also like to go back and try the cafe as well the Yamada coffee shop.

36 Sublo

My third IG meet up of the year and in fact the summer was fantastic. I met the love Kat of The Craft Bureau. Talk about a great day. Being a stationeryohlic like my good self we had a blast trying to keep each from bankrupting ourselves. We headed to Kichioji and after a lot of getting lost we found 36 Sublo. I'd wanted to go for the longest time and it was nice no just finally to go but to go with someone to share my gasps of amazement.

36 Sublo is s small shop on the 1 floor (second in Japan) on Kichioji Dori and (in)conveniently close to a HUGE Loft and before you ask yes we went to Loft too!! How could we not!?!? But I digress. It's relatively small and stocked a lot of things I'd seen before but it did have a great selection of rubber stamps. There were some things that were ridiculously priced that really put me off. I did buy the same sumo stamps I'd been lusting over in Yamada Stationery and regretted not buying the last time.

Over all 36 Sublo was okay it has a great stock just nothing I wanted to buy or not quite my taste or worth them money, buy still worth blogging about. Kichioji is a nice area and if I find my self there are again I may pop in there. If I have extra cash I would buy some of their great rubber stamps from their online store. But I don't think I will be going out of my way to visit like Yamada.

Being strictly 'no photos' I only have the shot I took through the door. As you can see I didn't really buy much but do love my new envelopes. I'm glad I checked it out and now know what they have to offer. Oh on the place side their website is som much better that Yamada and easy for online shopping!

Yamada (Again)

Yamada Stationery again it's rare for me to do a second post on the same place but I do love this shop so. I know it has only been six weeks since my last visit but I do love the fact the displays have been changed and there was new stock. They had a really cute medical theme from syringe pens and surgical kidney shaped bowls to Petri dishes for paper clips. The main kokeshi display had been replaced by kids arts and crafts as well  a variety and I hadn't seen or just weren't there last time.

The weather was much better when we visited this time and we went earlier in the day so we were able to check out the cafe properly. Their cafe looked really good and on my next visit I will definitely check it out. Another thing I like about Yamada is that the prices do vary so there is an opportunity to pick up a few little things on the cheap. It's worth mentioning they have a website but it's a bit of hot mess and difficult to navigate and of course in Japanese. So if you are lucky enough to be in Tokyo it's better to go in person, I'm not even sure if they do international shipping.

Incoming [June]

This month I received two 'pay it forward packages. Both of which were gorgeous thanks so much to Sierou and Vivian, I also go two fantastic postcard Vivian while she was visiting Japan. Other than that I received two letters this month. I have done a few swaps via my new postcard swapping IG account. But I will take quality over quantity any day.
