mt x G8

As you know I'm in love with the 3 M's, Moleskine, Midori and mt!!! So you can imagine my excited at this mt event in Tokyo. While I only got the check out the shop and none of the workshops it was still fucking amazing! My IG buddy and now friend Aya found this and suggested we should check it, she's such a cleaver girl! This was out first meeting and it was so much fun. You just just make us out in the first pic!

mt x G8  was an mt event at the Creation Gallery G8  in Shimbashi. They held workshops for kids and adults, sold tape, had clothes made with masking tape and a workspace area for making you own badges. Work was displayed by Anzai Mizumaru, Ed Emberley, Philip Wise Becker, Paul Cox, mintdesigns and Tadanori Yoko who had also designed tapes or hod tapes made from their original artwork. The clothes made with masking tapes were amazing and totally wearable. The patterns and colours for the masking task would totally work as fabric.

There were plenty of limited edition tapes by the artists as well as well as tapes from other events around Japan. This made it very hard to resist! My fav and I wish I had bought an extra roll was by Tadanori Yoko. Of course Aya and I made our own badges while we were there. The workspace was decorated with artwork from the workshops earlier in the week. Checking out the space is worth it alone specially as admission is free but of course how could go and NOT BUY any of the tape! Photos of my purchases at the bottom!

Stationery Stash #2

More stationery, yes I know I have a problem here are my October finds. I will get help at some point (in the far distant future). It's all being put to good use though. Everything here was bought from either Tabiya, Yurindo, Olympia or Pastello. My latest find, Pastello is in the Lumine Wing at Ofuna Station. I found it in mid-October and they had lots of Halloween stuff but to my joy they were already stocking Christmas stationery!

I resisted the urge to but any Christmas things, but Pastello will be my first port of call when I decide to start my Christmas mail and crafts. I did pick up a few Japanese themed things there, which I am always happy yo find. So I have new Mt. Fuji stickers, Ukioy-e postcards, a Mt. Fuji postcard and best of all my MT Okoro Japenese Souvenir tape. The tape I will using loads of my gifts I take back for Christmas.

Other bits: my messenger birds which I love, paper and labels, mt tape (naturally), Mark's sticker, tape and paper, autumn themed stamps and paper (blogged about here) and writing paper for a mass family mail out. Oh and another Rollbahn notebook (I have a notebook fetish) some stickers, post-its and note cards. Nothing now until Christmas.............maybe!

Yohira

So after a little research Thursday I found myself in Hase (more about the trip in a future post). I was in search of a well-known paper shop called 'Yohira'. I found out about the shop on a site called ‘Upon a Fold’. I have to check other shop they mentioned Cloud Bldg they have moved and changed their web address since the blog post so it took me a little time to find it (damn my limited Japanese!). I will check them out when I next go to Kamakura.

Yohira did not disappoint though I wish I'd gone into the main stationery shop first. They have two shops side by side, paper goods and then one purely for stationery. I spent more than I liked in each but would have preferred to use some of the more in the stationery shop. But picked up some pretty washi stitched postcards, paper and and letter sets. 

I was spoiled the choice and if I had more money I would've bought a lot more than I did. I'm happy with the things I picked up. After I went to Hase-dara I'll write about that later, I managed to pick up a few little souvenirs which will be great envelope fillers. But below are my new purchases.
