  4. Hello,

My name is Nicholas and I am a fourth year Government major at the University of Texas at Austin. I am working on a project with several of my classmates on knowledge sharing and teaching among artists and activist in Austin, Texas for a class entitled “Sex and Power in the African Diaspora.” My classmates found your wonderful artwork on Instagram and would love to include you in our project.

My group members and I want to understand about the ways that artists, like yourself, learn from their family, friends, community and ancestors. We are primarily interested in how this knowledge sharing impacts the process of creating artwork and participating in activist circles. The final result of this project will be a website focused on intimate forms of knowledge creation and knowledge sharing outside of the university setting.

We would like to interview you about your artwork and creative process. The interview will take no longer than 30 minutes and can be conducted via phone, Skype, email or in-person. Please let me know if you would be interested in being interviewed for this project. Also, feel free to contact me via email (nicbrown16@gmail.com) or phone (6823136775) if you have any questions.

    Thank you for your time,
    Nicholas Brown
